About Lize

Lize Kubannek graduated from the University of the Free State in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She was placed at the Helene Franz Hospital in the Limpopo Province for her year’s community service. In April 2004 Lize transferred to the Polokwane Provincial Hospital where her primary responsibility was the Occupational Therapy Department’s paediatric section. Here she proceeded to:

    • Compile a stimulation program implemented at three pre-primary schools in Polokwane.
    • Compile a 2D activity bank of VMI and perceptual activities.
    • Compile relevant home programs to distribute to clients.
    • Coordinate the provincial clinical paediatric workgroup.
    • Coordinate the yearly OT-week at Polokwane hospital to promote her profession.
    • Develop a program for autism support group.
    • Initiate the social club in Polokwane OT-Dept.
    • Give speeches at primary schools and openings of care centres in the community.
    • Coordinate a multi-disciplinary CP support and therapy group.
    • Do screening at primary and pre-primary schools in the community.

2005

  • In May 2005 Lize started to locum at private Occupational Therapy practices in Polokwane.
  • In September 2005 Lize started a general private practice where she aims to deliver a quality Occupational Therapy service.

2013

Lize completed her Ayers Sensory Integration training through the South African Institute of Sensory Integration (SAISI) in 2013. Lize is dedicated to facilitate, participate and provide continues professional development and training to relevant parties and presents workshops across the country.

The practice is committed to the principles of a fully inclusive society which recognizes diversity and the right of all people to have equal opportunities and to participate to their fullest potential and strive to empower therapists, educators, care givers and clients through services and training.​
